Abstract
A sample of the system 244Cm-Fe prepared by high-temperature condensation of metallic Cm vapor on an Fe support was studied. Intermetallic compounds Fe17Cm2 with a hexagonal crystal lattice and Fe2Cm with a cubic lattice were found. The system components show no mutual solubility at room temperature. The influence of high α -activity of 244Cm on the crystal structure of the phases found was established.
