Metal Science and Heat Treatment Aims and scope

Abstract

The basic experimentally determined laws of the appearance of dendritic segregation and formation of grain structure in an ingot, the mechanism of homogenizing annealing that promotes dissolution of inclusions of nonequilibrium phases, various approaches to computing homogenization regimes, the conditions for choosing the homogenization temperature and reasons for using stage homogenization are briefly considered.
