Unexpected synthesis of N-methylbenzo[d]isoxazolium hydroxides under microwave irradiation conditions

Abstract

Microwave-assisted condensation of salicylaldehydes and N-methyl hydroxylammonium hydrochloride in the presence of K2CO3 under solvent-free conditions afforded, unexpected N-methylbenzo[d]isoxazolium hydroxides (2a–d).
