The paper analyzes the main types of defects typically occurring in 10Kh11N20Т3R (EI696) steel ingots. Techniques for preventing the development of ingot defects are described. The effect of boron content and temperature deformation modes on the reduction in the impact toughness of workpieces in the conditions of Zlatoust Metallurgical Plant LLC is described.
