Calculation of alkaline earth metal solubility in iron-carbon melts

  • Published:
Metallurgist Aims and scope

On the basis of analyzing experimental data for the solubility of calcium and magnesium in molten Fe–C–Si, the most probable values for thermodynamic reaction parameters \( e_{Ca}^{Ca},e_{Ca}^{Si},e_{Mg}^{Si},e_{Mg}^C, \) and reaction constants for magnesium dissolution are determined.
