This article describes technical innovations from the Paul Wurth Company that make it possible to reduce the cost of making pig iron and speed up the return on investments. The innovations: compact granulation unit INBA operating next to the blast furnace; an axial cyclone for the dry cleaning of blast-furnace gas; a mathematical model to describe the charging of blast furnaces.
