Influence of technological factors on the resistance of structural materials to hydrogen degradation

  • Published:
Materials Science Aims and scope

The treatment of metals by silicon carbide, forming a thin plastically strained layer, leads to a substantial increase in their resistance to hydrogen at room temperature. For the protection of metals from the action of hydrogen, silver or copper based coatings are usually applied.
