Abstract

In order to improve multiple properties of rubber materials, such as tribological properties. To explore a way of improve rubber performance without the need of modify rubber formula, polyester natural rubber/butadiene rubber composite was prepared. The prepared samples were tested, in order to proof the performance improvement of rubber with surface reinforcement of polyester fabric. Specifically, the mechanical properties, tribological properties and hydrophobic properties were analyzed, and the surface observation and analysis were conducted after the test. Results showed that the surface contact angle of rubber sample after polyester fiber reinforced was significantly increased. Rubber properties has been greatly improved after polyester fiber reinforced. Polyester fiber reinforced rubber friction limit is 900 rpm and 20 N, the tribological limit of rubber with surface reinforcement of polyester fabric is much higher than rubber friction limit, which is 300 rpm and 10 N. After the fabric has damaged during the daily use, it can be easily fixed with new fabric without replace new rubber parts.
