Abstract
The magnetocaloric properties for the Fe4MnSi3Bx with x = 0, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20, and 0.25 are investigated at low field. It is found that magnetic entropy change distribution of the Fe4MnSi3Bx is much more uniform than that of gadolinium. This feature is desirable for an Ericson-cycle magnetic refrigerator. Moreover, the results of B increasing clearly indicate that the magnetocaloric effect in this system is tunable, which is beneficial for manipulating magnetocaloric refrigeration that occurs in various temperature ranges. This makes the Fe4MnSi3Bx samples potential candidates for practical applications.
