Abstract
The interaction of 5-aryl-4-quinoxaline-2,3-dihydro-2,3-furandiones with mesitylamine and methyl(phenyl) hydrazine results in the formation of 1-substituted 5-aryl-4-quinoxalinyl-2,3-dihydro-2,3-pyrrolediones. The crystal and molecular structure of the 1-mesityl-5-phenyl derivative was investigated by X-ray diffraction.
