Rabi-Josephson Transitions in Spinor Bose-Einstein Condensates

Abstract

We study a transition from Rabi to Josephson oscillations in spinor Bose-Einstein condensates by calculating spin-1 two-dimensional Gross-Pitaevskii equations numerically. The transition appears in off-resonance caused by quadratic Zeeman effect in a magnetic field. It is a novel phenomenon combining magnetic resonance with Josephson effects due to quantum tunneling.
