The Solid State Structure of [TMEDAH2][B5O6(OH)4]2

Abstract

The solid state structure of the pentaborate anion templated by a doubly protonated TMEDA cation is reported. The structure is typical of this family of ligands, featuring extensive hydrogen bonding. Spectroscopic characterisation is also reported.

Graphical Abstract

The structure of [TMEDAH2][B5O6(OH)4]2 is reported and hydrogen bonding gives a ‘brickwall’ type structure. This is a blue emitter in solution.
