Numerical modeling of the screening efficiency and losses in the end zone of a powerful turbine generator has been carried out. The effect of the stacking plan and the bending angle of the stator winding frontal parts, the material of the pressure plate, and the design, dimensions, and location of the electromagnetic screen in the modes of nominal load and under-excitation have been studied. An experimental and computational study of the effect of fabrication welding seams on the effectiveness of an electromagnetic screen was carried out on a full-scale model.
