Features of Sol-Gel Synthesis in the System ZnO–SnO2

  • Published:
Glass and Ceramics Aims and scope Submit manuscript

The effect of the anionic composition of zinc salts on the production of powders in the system ZnO–SnO2 by the sol-gel method was studied. It was determined that the synthesis temperature and the microstructure of the obtained powders depend on the activity of the acid forming the zinc salt. Based on the x-ray phase analysis and scanning electron microscopy, zinc sulfate is the optimal raw material for obtaining zinc orthostannate.
