In the original publication of the article, the sample size reported in the article differs from the sample size in the Electronic Supplementary material 2 dataset. The corrections in the text and the revised supplementary data set are provided in this correction.
The error in the text in the first paragraph of the methods subtitled “Statistical analysis”, about details of sample sizes could contribute to confusion in use of the supplementary data set.
Original text “Of these,46larvae yielded valid breaking force measures (original=37: predator=14, control=23; replacements=9: predator=4, control=5)” should read as “Of these, 48 larvae yielded valid breaking force measures (original = 37: predator = 14, control = 23; replacements = 11: predator = 6, control = 5)”.
