A New Ferulic Acid Derivative from Pimpinella thellungiana

  • Published:
Chemistry of Natural Compounds Aims and scope

A new ferulic acid derivative, (1R,2R)-2-O-E-feruloyl-1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)butane-1,2-diol (1) together with six known compounds (2–7), was isolated from the extracts of Pimpinella thellungiana H.Wolff. The structures of compounds were identified by MS, NMR spectroscopy, NMR calculation, ECD, and comparisons of spectroscopic data. Compounds 1–7 were further evaluated for their anti-inflammatory activities on LPS-induced RAW 264.7 cells.
