A New Derivative of Barceloneic Acid from the Mangrove Endophytic Fungus Phoma herbarum L28

A new derivative of barceloneic acid A, named phomaspether J (1), was isolated from the mangrove endophytic fungus Phoma herbarum L28. Its structure was elucidated by comprehensive spectroscopic analysis. It displayed strong antifungal activity against Colletotrichum musae and Fusarium oxysporum, and weak activity towards two serotypes of Escherichia coli (O6 and O78).
