Abstract
The structure and magnetic properties of polycrystalline NiMnGa films have been investigated. The films were obtained by a flash-evaporation method from powders of Ni49Mn30Ga21 and Ni53Mn25Ga22 alloys. The magnetic properties of the films are similar to bulk alloys with the Curie temperature T C ≈ 380 K and the martensitic transformation temperature T M ≈ 290 and 400 K for Ni49Mn30Ga21 and Ni53Mn25Ga22, respectively. Below T M, due to an increase of magnetic anisotropy in martensitic phase, ferromagnetic-resonance spectra at the perpendicular configuration exhibit an anomalous shift to lower fields and the linewidth substantially increases.
