The results of mathematical modeling of external heat transfer in a CD4-type cylindrical tube furnace with a bottom burner and a central divider-distributor showed that in this type of furnaces it is possible to change the profile of fuel burnout and heat generation in the flame, increase uniformity of heat flux density along the height of the screen tubes, and, consequently, improve the operation characteristics of the furnace by changing zoned secondary air supply along the height of the screen tubes.
