Quantitative Evaluation of Steel 15Kh5M Structural Degradation in a Stressed State and with Thermal Exposure

  • Published:
Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Aims and scope

A procedure is proposed for quantitative evaluation of steel 15Kh5M structural degradation with high temperature and static stresses, determined by means of computer metallography. Quantitative indices are provided for steel 15Kh5M microstructure corresponding to the limiting stage of structural degradation, on whose basis it is possible to predict the operating life of oil refining equipment.
