Abstract

Field equations of Saez and Ballester (Phys. Lett. A 113:467, 1986) scalar-tensor theory are obtained in the presence of two minimally interacting fields; matter and holographic dark energy components in spatially homogeneous and anisotropic LRS Bianchi type-II space-time. An exact solution of the field equations is presented using linearly varying deceleration parameter proposed by Akarsu and Dereli (Int. J. Theor. Phys. 51:612, 2012) which represents a minimally interacting Bianchi type-II universe in Saez-Ballester theory of gravitation. Some physical and kinematical properties of the model are also studied.
