Upon reviewing the above article, the authors have identified that there is a mistake in Fig. 7. The data presented is not correct, due to a formatting error in the preparation of the figures. The correct data does not change the outcomes nor the conclusions of the paper. As published, incorrect data was given for the compound under study (‘CPS’) shown in black bars. CPS was indicated in the paper to have only a low ice recrystallization inhibition (IRI) activity and thus that it could be classed as lacking antifreeze activity. The correct data presented here for the amended Fig. 7 displays mean largest grain sizes values (MLGS, as a percentage of PBS buffer) for CPS very close to the negative control (PEG), thus indicating a very low IRI activity. Indeed, the correct MLGS value for CPS is higher than in the incorrect Figure originally published.
