Traumazentrum Utrecht

Zusammenfassung

Das Traumazentrum Utrecht ist Teil des Universitätsklinikums Utrecht („Universitair Medisch Centrum Utrecht“, UMCU), einem Klinikum der Maximalversorgung. Die notfallmedizinische Versorgung der Provinz Utrecht soll prinzipiell durch nichtarztbesetzte Rettungsmittel sichergestellt werden. Wie die weiteren 9 Traumazentren der Niederlande ist das Traumazentrum Utrecht allerdings verpflichtet, in besonderen Situationen ein arztbesetztes Rettungsmittel, das „Mobiel Medisch Team“ (MMT), zur Verfügung zu stellen. Als Referenzzentrum des „Traumazorgnetwerk Midden Nederland“, einem Zusammenschluss 14 regionaler Krankenhäuser, gehören Forschung, Lehre und Entwicklung von Behandlungsprotokollen zu den weiteren Aufgaben des Traumazentrums. Die ärztliche notfallmedizinische Versorgung in den Niederlanden erfolgt nicht flächendeckend innerhalb von 15 Minuten und die Qualifikation der MMT-Ärzte ist nicht einheitlich.

Abstract

The Trauma Center in Utrecht is part of the University Hospital of Utrecht (“Universitair Medisch Centrum Utrecht,” UMCU), a maximum care facility. In principle, emergency medical care in the province of Utrecht is to be ensured by rescue teams without a physician. Just as in the other nine trauma centers in the Netherlands, however, the Trauma Center in Utrecht is required to make a physician-attended squad available in special situations, i.e., the “Mobiel Medisch Team” (mobile medical team, MMT). As the key center for the “Traumazorgnetwerk Midden Nederland,” an association of 14 regional hospitals, the Trauma Center also serves as the base for research, education, and development of treatment-protocols. Physician-attended emergency medical services in the Netherlands provided within 15 min is not a reality all over the country and the qualification of the MMT physicians is not uniform.
