Abstract

Kinetics of electrochemical nucleation and growth of three-dimensional clusters on a foreign substrate are considered in case of multi- and single-step ion discharge reactions at a constant electrochemical overpotential. Theoretical expressions are derived for the current vs time relationships in the case of progressive and instantaneous nucleation and growth of spherical clusters of the new phase.
