Abstract

Extraction experiments in the two-phase water/nitrobenzene system and γ-activity measurements were used to determine the stability constant of the sodium ionophore III–Ag+ complex dissolved in nitrobenzene saturated with water as 106.8±0.2. Quantum mechanical calculations were applied to predict the most probable structure of this cationic complex species.
