Abstract
We report the fabrication of self-organized metallic Ag nanoparticles (NPs) on monolayer MoSe2 surface using rapid thermal annealing method. The optical properties of monolayer MoSe2 and hybrid MoSe2–Ag NP structure are investigated and compared. It is found that significant enhancement of Raman scattering and photoluminescence is achieved by hybridizing monolayer MoSe2 with self-organized Ag NPs. The enhancement mechanism is demonstrated to be plasmon–exciton coupling based on the theoretical simulations using finite-difference time-domain method.
