Summary

A new evidence of the morphology of deproteinized natural rubber (DPNR) latex particles, i.e., γ-radiation vulcanized-deproteinized NR (RV-DPNR) and deproteinized-γ-radiation vulcanized NR (DP-RVNR), was obtained by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Micrographs of the rubber particles embedding in polystyrene, prepared by using a phase transfer/ bulk polymerization process, revealed the destruction of membrane layer surrounded the DPNR particles crosslinked by γ-ray (DP-RVNR).
