All authors contributed to the writing of the paper. ET was the lead author of the case report. ET, WJ, and YC were the physicians managing the patient during his hospital admission. WJ and YC reviewed the patient’s peripheral blood film. ST and SS performed the polyethylene glycol treatment on the patient’s serum sample as described in the protocol by Merrigan et al. [2], and provided expertise in the laboratory aspect of the case report. SS and YC revised the paper critically.
