Avoid common mistakes on your manuscript.
We read the article entitled ‘The abdominal whirlpool sign’ in which the finding and associated conditions are described concisely [1]. We appreciate the efforts of the authors and the educational value of the manuscript.
However, we noticed that there seems to be a mistake regarding the relationship of the SMA and the SMV as it is stated that ‘normally the SMV is located to the left of SMA.’ But that is not the case and the SMV lies to the right of the SMA [2].
We think, in an article describing the abdominal whirlpool sign which is the reversal of the normal orientation of the SMA and the SMV, the normal relationship of these vessels should be stated correctly.
