Zusammenfassung

Es wird über den plötzlichen Tod eines 4 Wochen alten weiblichen Säuglings berichtet. Zeichen äußerer Gewalteinwirkung fanden sich nicht. Bei der gerichtlichen Leichenöffnung wurde ein Fehlabgang der linken Koronararterie aus dem Truncus pulmonalis (Bland-White-Garland-Syndrom) als mögliche Todesursache diagnostiziert. Als morphologisches Korrelat für die Akuität des Todeseintritts wurden immunhistochemisch frische Myokardnekrosen festgestellt. Toxikologische Untersuchungen verliefen negativ.

Abstract

This is a report on the sudden death of a 4-week-old female infant without external signs of violence. At autopsy the anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary trunk (Bland-White-Garland syndrome) was identified as the possible cause of death. Immunohistochemical investigations revealed fresh cardiac necrosis indicating an acute fatal event. Toxicological analyses were negative.
