Zusammenfassung

Die Thrombozytopenie ist eine häufige Erscheinung in der Intensivmedizin, die mit einer erhöhten Letalität assoziiert ist. Ihre Ursachen sind vielfältig. Oft treten mehrere Faktoren, die jeweils allein eine Thrombozytopenie induzieren oder damit assoziiert sein können, zur gleichen Zeit auf, so dass sich die genaue Zuordnung der Ätiologie schwierig gestalten kann. Die vorliegende Kasuistik verdeutlicht die Bedeutung einer genauen klinischen und pathophsiologischen Betrachtung, die notwendig ist, um Fehldiagnosen und Fehlentscheidungen zu vermeiden.

Abstract

Thrombocytopenia is frequently observed in intensive care medicine, and it is associated with increased mortality. The causes of thrombocytopenia are manifold and several conditions may occur simultaneously so that an exact correlation with a single etiology may be difficult. The present case report demonstrates the importance of an appropriate pathophysiological and clinical consideration in order to avoid misdiagnoses and inappropriate management.
