Subschemes of Special Determinantal and Pfaffian Projective Schemes

Abstract.

We study codimension 2 arithmetically Cohen–Macaulay schemes and codimension 3 arithmetically Gorenstein schemes whose structure matrices have a special property. This will force the schemes to contain certain subschemes which can be completely described through the matrices. Some classical results will be recovered in this way.
