Abstract

Investigation of the autogentic sulfation of cadmium oxide by zinc sulfate has disclosed the existence of a sulfation series in which sulfates higher in the series will, upon heat treatment of a mixture, sulfate oxides of metals lower in the series. An early commercial application of this research at Josephtown Smelter is described.
