Abstract

Regarding the current discussion about promising personality attributions of top-managers, the present article analyzes to which extend a personality prototype among the DAX 30 Chief Executive Officers exists, analyzed by the big-five personnel inventory. Based on 280 judgments at zero acquaintances, anonymized profiles describing the respective Chief Executive Officer as a person and his personality, a dominant personality prototype within the board of managers has been confirmed in our data. This profile can be described as the “resilient” profile, as discussed in the literature. We find that the resilient manager profile is significantly different from the control group profile, i.e. the average male above 50.
