Additional information

Derek E. TyerTMS is supervisor of the Process Sciences Group at Olin’s Metals Research Laboratory. With the company since 1968, he has been involved in alloy development, and more recently the melting, casting and processing of aluminum and copper base alloys. He received his B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in metallurgy from the University of Leeds.

Ronald N. CaronTMS is research specialist at Metals Research Laboratories of Olin Corporation. He received BS (1965), MS (1967) and PhD (1970) degrees in Metallurgy and Materials Science from Lehigh University. He joined Olin in 1970 where he has been involved with research and development of copper-base alloys. He is currently engaged in studies on precipitation in copper alloys.

Stanley ShapiroTMS is Metal Structures Group Supervisor at Olin Corp.’s Metals Research Laboratory. He received his BChE from CCNY (1960). His graduate studies in metallurgy and materials science led to an MS (1964) from RPI and the PhD (1966) from Lehigh University. With Olin since 1966, his efforts in copper alloy research and development have been primarily directed toward microstructure / property relationships.
