N. J. ThemelisTMS is manager of the Engineering Division of the Noranda Research Centre. He received his PhD from McGill Univ. in 1961, spent a year with Strategic Material Corp., and joined the newly formed Noranda Research Centre in 1962. Dr. Themelis is the 1972 TMS Extractive Metallurgy Division Lecturer.

G. C. McKerrowTMS worked at Noranda Mines smelter for five years following graduation from Queen’s Univ. He then worked at various mining operations in Peru before returning to Noranda in 1947 as a metallurgist. Since 1969 he has been assistant chief manager for Noranda Mines, Ltd.

P. TarassoffTMS is Head of the Dept, of Chemical Engineering at the Noranda Research Centre. He received a B. Eng. degree in Metallurgical Engineering from McGill Univ. and a ScD in Chemical Metallurgy from M.IT in 1962. After graduation he worked for Quebec Iron and Titanium Corp. as a research engineer. He joined Noranda in 1964.

G. D. Hallett attended London Univ. and Royal School of Mines, receiving BSc (1960) and MSc (1963) degrees. He then joined Makeri Tin Smelting Co. Ltd., Northern Nigeria. In 1965 he moved to Consolidated Tin Smelters, England, and in 1969 joined Noranda Mines, Ltd. in Quebec. He is currently assistant chief smelter metallurgist.
