Abstract
The VW Polo BlueMotion from 2006 is in the line with the reigning fuel economy champion, like the Lupo 3L TDI. Now, within just under one year after the successful market launch of the new Polo, Volkswagen presents the second generation of the Polo BlueMotion. It achieves a good drag coefficient of 0.307, a new 1.2-l TDI diesel engine with common-rail injection and a start/stop system which reduce the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions in urban traffic as well as in stop-and-go phases by up to 6 % on average and the noise emissions when stationary to zero.
