Abstract
Ford’s wind tunnel in Cologne has been in operation since 1983. It was designed as an aerodynamic wind tunnel. Flowinduced noise measurements were impossible because of the extremely high self-noise level caused by the fan. In 1998, the wind tunnel was converted into an aero-acoustic wind tunnel, with development and engineering work being provided by WSP Consulting Engineers, Aachen.
