The laminar boundary layer with distributed heat sources or sinks *)

Applied Scientific Research, Section A Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

The structure of the thermal boundary layer with distributed heat sources or sinks is examined. The problem is reduced to the solution of an infinite system of ordinary linear differential equations. A basic connection between the problem at hand and a certain class of three-dimensional boundary layer flows is pointed out and utilized. The analysis is illustrated by an example which indicates pronounced effects on the temperature distribution due to the presence of sources or sinks.
