Abstract
The contribution of 3d atoms to the thermopower in dilute alloys of noble metals is determined by a simple theoretical model. It is assumed that only the resonant phase shifts are dominant and their energy-dependence is described byAnderson’s model. The results obtained offer a possibility to evaluate the microscopic parametersE Dgi , E adi and Δ i -characterizing the virtual levels produced by thei-th impurity — using macroscopic parameters such as the resistivity ϱ i , thermopower contributionS i and valence differenceZ i. Numerical estimates have been done for a copper matrix.
