Abstract

The speckle patterns for two identical diffusers, with controlled separation between them, have been studied. A new mathematical equation correlating the dependence of the differences between successive diameters of the resulting intereference fringes upon the wavelength of the incident beam, the refractive index of the diffusers and the separation between them is obtained and applied experimentally. The experimental results reflect considerable agreement with the theoretical formula.
