Samenvatting

Achtergrond Richtlijnen zoals de NHG-Standaard COPD: behandeling en de CBO-richtlijn Ketenzorg COPD1 adviseren geen standaardvaccinatie voor pneumokokken bij patiënten met COPD omdat in geïndustrialiseerde landen deze vaccinatie niet effectief is om (pneumokokken)pneumonieën of sterfte daaraan te voorkomen. In 2006 verscheen bovengenoemde review met een iets andere insteek: hier zijn met name de acute exacerbaties de primaire uitkomstmaat.
