Samenvatting

Het is al lang geen controversiële kwestie meer of psychotherapie helpt. Tenminste als we iemand als Rosenthal (1994, p. 131) mogen geloven, die meent dat deze vraag al sinds de eerste meta–analyse afdoende positief is beantwoord. Vragen naar wat dat nu eigenlijk voor psychotherapie is die helpt, naar hoevéél vooruitgang er geboekt wordt en of met eenvoudiger middelen niet hetzelfde of zelfs beter resultaat geboekt kan worden, worden wel therapeutenmasochisme genoemd.
