Abstract
In the treatment of obsessions exposure is most frequently used. The patient has to evoke his obsessions. As a result the anxiety the obsessions cause, will diminish. In clinical practice this method is not always easily carried out. Two examples will show this. A suggestion for an adaptation of the method is done. This adaptation is based on the so called dreamsubstitution technique. With this method the patient learns to transform the terrible thoughts and images in more pleasant ones.
