Determinanten van overgewicht

Samenvatting

Uit deze editie van Bijblijven mag duidelijk zijn dat overgewicht en obesitas belangrijke en steeds vaker voorkomende oorzaken van ongezondheid zijn.1 Een dergelijke bedreiging voor de volksgezondheid vraagt om actie. Interventies ter bestrijding of preventie van overgewicht en obesitas vereisen inzicht in de determinanten, de oorzaken en risicofactoren van overgewicht en obesitas. Alleen als we inzicht hebben in die determinanten kunnen interventies worden ontwikkeld die zijn afgestemd op de doelgroep en die aansluiten bij de belangrijke oorzaken van overgewicht.
