Samenvatting

De algemene bevolking is de laatste decennia alsmaar dikker geworden. Daarmee is ook de vetlaag tussen de huid en de spieren steeds dikker geworden. Dit werpt de vraag op bij hoeveel patiënten intramusculaire injecties ook wel echt intramusculair gezet worden. Om deze vraag te beantwoorden heeft Nisbet bij 100 volwassen patiënten die een CT-scan van het bekken moesten ondergaan, de dikte van de vetlaag op de gluteaalspier (bilspier) gemeten, aan zowel de ventrale als de dorsale zijde1.
