The establishment of a bioassay for erythropoietin

  • Published:
Irish Journal of Medical Science Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

A BIOASSAY for erythropoietin has been established using the hypoxia induced polycythaemic mouse technique. A crude extract of erythropoietin has been prepared from human urine and calibrated in International Reference Preparation (I.R.P.) units. The erythropoietin content of urine has been assayed in a number of clinical cases.
