Summary
With regards to its frequency, its effects on the quality of life, the cost of its management, the gastroesophageal reflux represents a public health problem in the western countries. For these different reasons, in most cases, this functional and benign pathology requires an optimal management. After an overview about the epidemiological European data related to this affection, its natural history, its clinical presentations, we propose an optimalised diagnostic strategy and measures for its initial management.
