Abstract

An attempt has been made to monitor the Seasonal Variations of Surface water by relating the Satellite derived waterspread information to the weekly rainfall data in the monsoon periods of 1984 in the chittor district of Andhra Pradesh. Further the study has indicated that there is a significant deficit in the area of Crops Irrigated by tanks on account of deficit in surface water availability, thereby indicating the general drought situation in the year 1984.
