Analysis of an array of circular loops

Abstract

A rigorous technique is developed for studying an array of arbitrarily oriented thin wire circular loops of arbitrary sizes. The exact kernel is derived and used to improve the accuracy. The scheme is applicable for small as well as large loops. The numerically obtained currents on a single loop are undistinguishable from those determined by the Fourier expansion method except when the loop is near resonance and βb > 2. For an array of two coaxial loops, excellent agreement between the analytical results and measurements is observed. Contrasts to the Fourier transform method, extension of the present scheme to cover an array of arbitrarily oriented loops intermingled with straight wires, dangling or connected, can be easily accomplished.
